The struggle never ends

Context: "It will not be enough to topple Trump from power. We need to restructure our system of government to guard against this kind of authoritarianism ever emerging again."

I would say rather that we need to restructure our system so that the next time the authoritarians take power — as I assume they always will, forever and a day — our descendants can win back their freedom again, and again, and again, sub specie aeternitatis.
