The best part of the land

Context: "The US was built over time, by conquering, and treaties with native peoples. They have no more right to this land than other native-born Americans."
To be fair, the native peoples fought each other for rights to the best part of the land, as for example the Ojibwe driving the Dakota out of the forests and into the badlands.
