The appropriate responses
Context: "Seems like we're way overdue for an appropriate response to this insanity."
The appropriate responses included two impeachments, a Congressional investigation (which utterly failed to use its power to arrest subpoena-scofflaws), a felony financial crime conviction, and a sexual assault adjudication (of which the judge said "Yes, it was rape".
Yet here we are.
I can only suppose that the power of those who want Trump in office have so thoroughly outnumber and outmaneuvered whatever defenses America might have put up that the the patient is now all but unresponsive, incapable of providing itself with basic care.
As for the hope that we might receive aid from outside — military intervention from the EU or the United Nations — I don't suppose that's going to happen, not in my lifetime.
The Trump Faction will burn this nation to the ground — nuke a liberal city, perhaps — before it gives up power.
