January 6, 2021: Insurrectionists with Trump flag storm the US Capitol.

The Trump Faction whipped a mob to violence, used it as cover for Oath Keeper / Proud Boy assault squads, and attacked the Capitol in a coup attempt.

Now they have the Executive again. I think it's prudent to assume they will never voluntarily hand it back.
