Not to get political but lutefisk in Minnesota is better than lutefisk anywhere else outside Scandanavia combined.

Sure, lutefisk *looks* like tripe.

But does tripe taste faintly of soap? No?

Lutefisk does. From the lye. You can never get all the lye out, no matter how many times you rinse the fish.
