January 6: How they did it - commentary by Sandi Bachom @sandibachom on Twitter.
How they did it
- The night of the 2020 election when Trump lost, Rudy said. 'Just say we won' and they did. Then on November 9th Trump fired Esper and installed Chris Miller as Sec of Defense (the only person who can call up the National Guard in DC beside Trump.
- November 14, 5 days after the election was called for Biden, Trump had the first Stop the Steal rally. It was called the Million MAGA March. Thousands were bused in, more Proud Boys than I'd ever seen. He'd told them to 'Stand back. Stand by'.
- The second Stop the Steal rally was December 12, 2020. The most violent. 4 stabbings involving the Proud Boys that night. It was called the March For Trump. Thousands bused in by Women For Trump.
- I believe the other 2 rallies were rehearsals. By Jan 6th they were all convinced the election had been stolen and spouting the SAME talking points, because they all get their talking points from the same place. Flynn called them his 'digital soldiers'
- I made my first documentary about how the "True Believers" got to the insurrection.
- My footage from that day was used in the 2nd impeachment trial and during the January 6th hearings. As always, my heartfelt thanks for supporting independent journalism making it possible for me to travel. http://paypal.me/sandibachom
