Eisenhower, Last of the Great Honest Presidents is a short essay by Karl Jones.

Essay

I miss Eisenhower, last of the Great Honest Presidents.

Carter was (and is) Honest, I miss him too (and more, because he was my first vote, whereas Eisehower is a historical figure to me).

But Carter was a virtuous officer of the Old Republic in an age of Imperial Executive power — no match for the Bushes and their October Surprises.
