Pat Robertson

Yet another disingenuous asshole who helped get us where we are today, so he can go fuck right off.

[-User Mindysan33 on Pat Robertson]

True enough.

And yet here we are, every day more desperate for the Trump Tipping Point.

Surely Robertson will swing a lot of red-staters.

Yes, these red-staters will continue to be people you despise forever. But the Trump will be Tipped.

Last word:

I have been saying for years:

"Love is the way."

And:

"Never give up on people."

I have always been sincere about this, you understand. But it has always been an ethical statement, a poem about right and wrong, kind and hurtful, good and evil. Not a functional assertion, not an action statement on any scale larger than a personal apology when I have wronged a friend, or been wronged myself.

It never occurred to me that the *world* would change.

Now here we are.

House fire in Ely

House fire in my beloved Ely, Minnesota.

No deaths but the old man who owns the place suffered some smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital.

I didn't take any pictures. I will limit this to my memories.

Fairly upsetting. House is a loss.

Silver lining: met neighbors

  • Kaitlin who just got engaged yesterday
  • Mark and Deanne (sp?) and Liz from the corner house across the street, who greeted me warmly and we chatted at length, they had lots of stories about Ely for me. New friends! Really, my first friends in Ely.
