Bastard

I don't use it, and am sharply intolerant of other people using it.

I know it's a casual insult, few people think twice about it.

But I have thought once, twice, many times, and now see clearly that "bastard" is generational misogyny — blaming a child for being born to a woman who, because she has no husband, must be ... well, that's far enough, you see how it goes.
