A wild frontier town in its day
From Gnomon Chronicles
Ely was a wild frontier town in its day.
During Prohibition, this was a hideout town for gangsters who were too hot for Saint Paul (itself an "open town" with an openly corrupt police police who personally escorted too-hot Chicago hoods up to Ely bolt-holes).
