Nonfiction: Today, the nova that lit skies on March 11, 1437, shows an ejected shell of hot hydrogen gas. This image was taken with the Carnegie Swope 1-meter telescope in Chile. The star that incited the nova is indicated with red tick marks; it's off-center today, but was located at the red plus mark back in 1437, researchers said.
