We all know that No Way Home was the superhero crossover that had everyone losing their minds, but what about DCs response to it? That’s right, today we are exploring David Cronenberg's Batman-filled body horror bonanza, The Batenbergian Horror.

Don't Get It Twisted…

When Marvel achieved great and grand success with No Way Home, DC wanted to do the same thing for Batman, but with a unique twist, so that Marvel’s ruthless lawyer Karl did not come after them. Therefore, they took the next logical step and called up David Cronenberg to cook them up something crazy, and my lord, he certainly did.

The premise of the movie is as follows: Batman (play by Pattinson) one night begins to horrifically mutate until suddenly, he transforms into Ben Affleck. Then, Affleck horrifically transforms into Bale, Bale into Clooney, Clooney into Kilmer and Kilmer into Keaton. Its wild, crazy, and fun seeing all these actors portray their Batman in the world of Pattinson’s. Of course, things soon start to go wrong, as it’s Cronenberg we are talking about here…

The mutations begin to crossover, go wrong. Batman begins to hold the form to several actors at once, his physical form slowly degrading through the use of some incredible practical effects (although, what would you expect: it's Cronenberg) and equally brilliant dual performances. Through the combination of sheer body-horror terror, and the twisted delight in revisiting these famous (and infamous) Batman actors, The Batenbergian Horror ultimately delivers a crossover like no other…
