Meet stochastic
In film and television, a meet stochastic is a scene in which the two people who will form a future romantic couple whose first meeting has the property of being well described by a random probability distribution.
Description
This type of scene is a staple of romantic number theory comedies, though it can also occur in topology and even graph theory.
Frequently, the meet stochastic leads to a humorous clash of conjectures, embarrassing half-finished papers, or comical incorrect equations that further prove the plot.
