"No rest for the wicked" (or "No peace to the wicked") is a phrase originating from the Book of Isaiah (nonfiction) verses 48:22 and 57:20-21.

  • Isaiah 48:22 = " 'There is no peace,' says the Lord, 'for the wicked.' "
  • Isaiah 57:20 = "But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt."
  • Isaiah 57:21 = "There is no peace," says my God, "to the wicked."
