The Ely voice

Two years ago I moved from Minneapolis to Ely.

There is a vocal register up here, somewhat Canadian, not literally "ey?" but that tonal quality.

I didn't grow up with it, but my aunt and uncle did, and all of their kids. I often think of them when I hear the locals speak.
