The diary entry was discovered by amateur gnomon algorithm theorist Karl Jones on July 7, 2020, while writing comments on Facebook.
Repurpose a Dystopia Challenge
After writing Dear Diary (Death Star edition), Jones was inspired to use it as an example of repurposing a dystopia.
