Legions of a Mind
"Legions of a Mind" (commonly known as "Oliver Cromwell" or "Oliver Cromwell's Dead") is a pop song about the death and Oliver Cromwell and the subsequent adventures of his severed and tarred head by amateur historian and volunteer moralist Karl Jones from his unpublished album "In Search of the Lost King".
Lyrics
Oliver Cromwell's dead
No, no no no, he's outside looking in
He'll fight his wars but lose his head
It's boiled in tar, keeps ravens fed
He keeps reminding us he's deadOliver Cromwell ... Oliver Cromwell ... Oliver Cromwell ...
Commentary
In further death of Oliver Crowell news—
I am fascinated by the severed and tarred and politically manipulated head of Oliver Cromwell, and you may expect more in this vein if I fail to show some restraint:
In the News
Mathematician and crime-fighter William Oughtred computes the death-mask of Oliver Cromwell in preparation for the trial of Cromwell's corpse.
