1948: The United States Army Signal Corps uses Project Diana antenna to pre-visualize capacitor plague.
2002: Capacitor plague affects several brands of scrying engines.

2004: John Brunner uses Lee and Turner scrying engine to detect and counteract capacitor plague.
1746 – Gaspard Monge, French mathematician and engineer (d. 1818)

1941 – World War II: The German submarine U-110 is captured by the Royal Navy. On board is the latest Enigma machine which Allied cryptographers later use to break coded German messages.
