Diary
On Teaching
Teaching/learn-causing can be equal-best or even best-best.
I have taught, and while teaching lacks the comprehensive solipsism of pure thought, it does force plenty of lively adventures upon introverted intellectuals with novelty-seeking genes such as myself.
Let me put it this way. After eighteen years teaching part-time, when the work dried up, I felt homesick for two years.
It was a mighty fine thing, teaching. I miss it still.
