During the 1900's, time-traveller Niles Cartouchian is a cryptographer and actor who gains fame with the computationally-enhanced action-adventure film Dard Hunter, Glyph Warden.

Cartouchian is married to mathematician, academic, and crime-fighter Alice Beta. They have a daughter, Janet Beta, who invents celebrity time-traveller Radium Jane.
