"The Human Condition 2" is a short essay by Karl Jones. Community, yes. But also disunity.

War and Peace. Death and Birth.

The struggle— All the world's an arena, and all the men and women play their parts, mainly as bystanders in the cheap seats.

Progress without completion.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

All of it — not how it *should* be, not how we *wish* it to be — but as we *actually find it to be*.

I chose the word "Chronicles" in "Gnomon Chronicles" with great care—I think of myself as a witness to my time, chronicling the events of my time.
