Welcome to the Squadron.

"Welcome to the Squadron" is a short poem by Karl Jones.

We are all winging it
from birth to death.
Si Monumentum Requiris,
Circumnavigate.
Welcome to the Squadron.

Jones has repeatedly insisted that "no man is an airplane, no man is an island — whatever it takes."

I wrote the poem on the morning of Saturday, 14 November 2020, in response to a post on Facebook.

Life is a series of impossible promises / Which keep coming true / One breath after another
God's Avionics Recompute One Sonnet.
The Flying Diner welcomes the Squadron with its legendary "bottomless cup" of Extremely Powerful Coffee.
