He is known to have sprinkled it on his breakfast cereal "religiously" (citation needed).

Possible involvement of Rubrics
The Rubrics were an ancient tribe of warriors who worshiped the color red. Scholars have speculated that Swift hired the Rubrics, or used the Rubrics in some way, to carry out the blood sacrifice of Lovecraft.
