Green Lantern is the name of a number of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics.
They fight evil with the aid of power rings that grant them a variety of extraordinary powers.
Original oath by Alfred Bester:
"In brightest day, in blackest night,
no evil shall escape my sight, let those who worship evil's might, beware my power, Green Lantern's light!"
