"Munchausens all the way down" is an expression of the problem of infinite regress.
The saying alludes to the mathological idea of an infinite series of Munchausen Films which sustain an infinite number of exoquantum planets indistinguishable from our Standard Earth.
It suggests that the Earth is a Munchausen Film which is a preview of even more exuberant, flamboyant Munchausen Film, which itself is part of series of increasingly bizarre Munchausen Films which continue indefinitely (i.e., "Munchausens all the way down").
In the News
Demented Time Traveler With Superpowers Does Whatever The Hell He Wants, the first known example of the "Munchausens all the way down" effect.
