Nysa on the Maeander is a ancient city of Anatolia, and sometimes (intermittently) a transdimensional corporation.
In Greek mythology, Dionysus (nonfiction), the god of wine was born or raised in Nysa or Nyssa (Ancient Greek: Νύσα or Νύσσα), a name that was consequently given to many towns in all parts of the world associated with cultivation of grapes.
As a consequence, Nysa on the Maeander literally meanders across time and space, failing to maintain a fixed destiny relative to the Roman Empire.
Nysa on the Maeander has made several efforts to "sober up and get transdimensional", as Socrates put it.
During the Trojan War, Nysa on the Maeander was able to (temporarily) function as a transdimensional corporation, thanks to sponsorship of the war by Extract of Radium.
This phase ended with a particularly virulent wave of scrimshaw abuse, and the subsequent conflagrations of Troy across countless disparate Trojan timelines.
The resulting chaos would later be known as Schliemann's Butterfly Effect.
Wild metachondria are native to the region. They are especially abundant during the spring mating season.
The resulting Extract of Radium bloom attracts well-intentioned scholars and death-by-information enthusiasts alike.
Nysa on the Maeander returned to the root dimensions, and currently remains rooted (as of June 2016).
