Petasos or Petasus (Greek: πέτασος) is a semi-retired supervillain.
He is known for wearing his family's hereditary petasos, a sun hat of Thessalian origin worn by the ancient Greeks, usually made of wool felt, leather or straw, with a broad, floppy brim.
Although widely acknowledged as a supervillain, Petasos has a reputation avoiding violence and bloodshed, and is widely considered to be a fair and decent man who somehow had supervillain powers thrust upon him.
In the News
Achilles feeling glum, wishes he had a new hat.
Hopalong Perfidy vows to gun down Petasos on sight (but cannot be trusted to keep his word -- "because Perfidy").
Petasos disguises himself as a cluster of dry hemlock seeds.
Footnotes:
- Hopalong Perfidy and Petasos will kill each other, first chance they get.
- The Uncials have formed (and broken) alliances with Petasos on several occasions.
- Petasos and The Sigil have occasionally crossed paths.
