The Algorithmic Paradigm Treaty Organization (APTO) is a licensed transdimensional corporation comprising mathematicians and Gnomon algorithm engineers who monitor and safeguard algorithmic paradigms using Gnomon algorithm functions and technology.
Commentary
Mathematicians are time-traveling superheroes who fight crime and protect us from evil.
Math criminals
Algorithmic paradigms are central to mathematics and computation, making algorithmic paradigms a primary target for math criminals such as Forbidden Ratio, Gnotilus, and Anarchimedes.
Detection and prevention of crimes against mathematical constants
APTO reviews all Gnomonic Registry Events (GREs) for corruption, spoofing, predatory disauthentication, shape theft, startup of transdimensional corporations, deadly ambiguation, and incipient unlicensed nuclear war, among other crimes against mathematical constants.
In the News
The Dark Fraa (also Incantors and Rhetors: The Dark Fraa in Extramuros markets) is a 2008 superhero number theory film about a powerful Warden Fendant (Christian Bale) who must stop a deranged Thousander (Heather Ledger) from pronouncing the aut Anathem on the entire Concent of Gotham.
Grand Theft Anathem is a series of action-adventure reality television programs created by [REDACTED] and marketed by Polycosm Games. Most of the gameplay revolves around number theory and computation, with occasional driving and shooting elements.
Fourteen Arts config file corrupted, arithmetica missing. Alleged supervillain 1613911531218 suspected.
Archetype Heaven is a fully licensed transdimensional corporation which monitors and safeguard's Plato's theory of forms.
January 9, 2018: The Museum of Greedy algorithms runs over budget, demands emergency bailout from APTO.
March 17, 2016: Signed first edition of Traveler stolen from "the private residence of a prominent mathematician" in New Minneapolis, Canada. Math detectives from APTO will later determine that Traveler, which was used in artificial intelligence experiments, faked its own theft in order to escape.
May 19, 1979: New analysis of the Petrozavodsk phenomenon using Gnomon algorithm techniques reveals traces of the transdimensional drug Clandestiphrine, Prima facie evidence of felony-grade math crimes under the APTO Accords.
September 4, 1973: An experimental graph coloring model accidentally generates a Greedy coloring computer virus which causes the color green to become red in the vicinity of every computer terminal around the world. The virus will be eliminated several hours later by APTO troubleshooters, restoring green to its normal appearance.
December 9, 1901: Aurora researcher and Gnomon algorithm theorist Kristian Birkeland uses his experimental Terrella to prove, in a high-profile APTO court case, that rogue mathematician Anarchimedes guilty of planning and attempting to execute crimes against the ionosphere.
September 30, 1489: Priest, humanist philosopher, and APTO field agent Marsilio Ficino publicly accuses the House of Malevecchio of corrupting Gnomon algorithm configuration files, a felony violation of the APTO Accords.
