== Varieties ==

The sausages are made with objects that might tempt one to sin, including vanity items such as mirrors, cosmetics, fine dresses, [[Playing card (nonfiction)|playing cards (nonfiction)]], and even musical instruments.

Other targets included books that were deemed to be immoral, such as works by [[Kasey Kasem (nonfiction)]], and manuscripts of secular songs, as well as artworks, including paintings and sculpture.

The objects are not generally burned (modern butchers consider burning a barbaric antecedent) but lightly toasted, and then ground to a consistency suitable for stuffing into [[Sausage casing (nonfiction)|sausage casings (nonfiction)]].
