It’s because of your taste buds that the Yorkshire Tea hurt Daddy’s brain is a joke by Karl Jones.
Discussion
So I say to myself, after having tasted the stuff, after having obtained the stuff, after having read about the stuff:
It’s because of your taste buds that the Yorkshire Tea hurt Daddy’s brain.
Then I thought about therapy. But satire is cheaper.
Origin
The comment, which responds to another comment where Yorkshire Tea is introduced, reads:
Thank God, thank God. I thought was alone.
It is so bad, I could not bring myself to denounce it, so startling is the effect – one begins to doubt one’s senses.
"It’s because of your taste buds that the Yorkshire Tea hurt Daddy’s brain."
This is an allusion to parent-child relationship dysfunction when the parent, in this case Daddy, is an alcoholic.
In the News
New Ingredients for Old is a cookbook and memoir by Margaret Mead and Julia Child.
